It is not uncommon, especially in this clime that people elected or appointed to serve their people suddenly assume the status of gods unreachable by their folks. It is therefore gratifying and indeed humbling when a public office holder unceremoniously identifies with his or her people. Hajiya Ramatu Mohammed Yar’adua's weekend visit to her country home is the right step in the right direction at the right time. Politicians and public office holders must go back to their people and seek their blessings and support and constantly contribute in reducing their hardship especially in this present economic hardship.

The Niger State Commissioner of Commerce, Industry and Investment, Hajiya Ramatu Mohammed Yar’adua has stressed and re-stressed that her root, through Almighty Allah is her source of inspiration and the backbone that has kept her moving. The insightful revelation was disclosed when she embarked on a foot-tour assessment visit of the nook and cranny of Enagi in Edati Local Government Area of Niger.

According to residents, prior to Yar’adua's appointment as the Commissioner of Commerce, Industry and Investment by the Governor Abubakar Sani Bello's administration, she never lost touch with her people.

A resident who gave his name as Ibrahim Ladan said "Hajiya Ramatu is so different, look at her, the social and academic status, you will think she doesn't relate and visits us often, but she is jovial, accommodating and passionate to help her people. She relates with us freely, what i can say is nothing but Alhamdullillah to Almighty Allah who gave us a simple, humble and very respectful person as our own, and we are very much proud of her".

She noted that, although her becoming a public officer was based on appointment to serve Nigerlites as a whole, there are still home-based related issues she cannot and will not do without consulting her people.

The Commissioner during the visit, inspected some ongoing and completed projects of boreholes drilling, renovation of mosque, which according to residents, is long overdue but neglected by those before Hajiya Yar’adua who in one way or the other had the opportunity to do but unfortunately did not.

Mallama Hadiza Suleiman said "this borehole you see here was a campaign pledge and Alhamdullillah they have fulfilled it, now it is our own bid to ensure we maintain it for our benefit".

The Commissioner then stopped by the Enagi Women multi-purpose centre for diverse skills acquisition where aside purchasing Edati-made morning fresh worth of 5,000 naira at 250 per 1 unit. She did not stop at just patronising the made in Enagi products, she also donated the sum of 20,000 naira which she said is "my modest contribution to this amazing and important centre."

Her joyous foot-tour rounded up at the residence of the Chief Imam of Enagi, Alhaji Muhammed Idris Enagi then the palace of his Royal Highness, the BIMA of Enagi, Alhaji Ahmad Suleiman, where she humbly requested for continued support, cooperation and most importantly prayers for the success of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello and Mr. President, His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari.
