Ondo Pdp Suspends Jimoh Ibrahim’s Running Mate, 20 Others But Omits Jimoh Ibrahim

SAN FRANCISCO, November 29, (THEWILL) – The Ahmed Markafi faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has suspended Ebenezer Alabi, who was the running mate of Jimoh Ibrahim, the erstwhile candidate of the party in the recently concluded Ondo gubernatorial election.

In a statement issued and signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Banji Okunomo, shortly after the party State Working Committee (SWC) meeting, the factional State chairman of the party, Biyi Poroye, from the Ali Modu Sheriff's faction, and 19 other party members.

Curiously, Jimoh Ibrahim was not among those suspended.

Okunomo declared that the party members were suspended in line with Section 57 of the constitution of the party and the inherent task conferred on the State Working Committee of the party due to their alleged anti-party activities in the just concluded November 26, governorship election in the state.

“By the virtue of the Court of Appeal judgment, Biyi Poroye did not only seize to be executive as he claimed, but they have also turned out to be ordinary members of the party,” the statement read.

They include: Dennis Alonge, Johnson Alabi, Dr. Olu Ogunye, Senator Meroyi, Mrs. Yemi Ajonibode, Musa Megida, Isaac Alase, Sola Ebiseni, Ademola Genty, Prof. Yemisi Akinyemiju and Dare Emiola.

Others include Yemisi Akinmade, Ade Adebawore, Bakkitta Bello, Adegboruwa Taiwo, Omowole Oluwagbehinmi, Gbamila Ogunji, Abiye Ademoyegun, and Dara Akinbo.

Okunomo added that the suspended members are expected to appear before the disciplinary committee of the party on Monday December 5, 2016.
