SAN FRANCISCO, November 11, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari met with the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Friday, making it a third meeting of the duo within one week .

THEWILL recalls that both men first met last Friday after the Senate rejected the $30bn loan request by President Buhari.

Saraki then warned against reading political meaning to the decision of the Senate explaining that the external borrowing request was a work in progress.

He stated that the Senate's decision should not be viewed as a reflection of the relationship between the Executive and the Legislature and pleaded with Nigerians not to politicise the rejection of the loan request by the upper legislative chamber.

However, the duo met again on Wednesday , after the President met with members of the South East Caucus in the Senate led by the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, and Eyinnaya Abaribe.

The meeting was termed private as State House correspondents were not allowed to cover the meeting.

Saraki arrived Aso Rock Villa for the meeting on Wednesday few minutes past 3pm accompanied by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Ita Enang.

He however joined Buhari to pray in the Villa mosque before returning together to the office for their meeting, just like it happened last Friday.

Yet again, Saraki met with the president ‎for two hours after Jumat prayers on Friday , but the purpose of his visit was not disclosed to journalists as the meeting was termed private as State House correspondents were not allowed to cover the meeting.
