In a rare demonstration of inter ministerial collaboration, the Niger State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mustapha Jibril paid an unscheduled working visit to the Borgu General Hospital in New-Bussa in the company of his counterpart from the Niger State Planning Commission, Mallam Mohammed Nda and that of Ministry of Investment, Commerce and Industry, Hajiya Ramatu Yar’adua.

The trio paid the visit shortly after the historic coronation of the 19th Emir of Borgu Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Barrister Muhammed Sani Haliru Dantoro (Kitoro the IV) Mai-Borgu. The ceremony was held at the Sabuke Square in New-Bussa on Saturday, 29th October, 2016.

According to Dr. Jibril, the team was at the hospital to appraise its functional status and to gauge client satisfaction in New-Bussa and environs. He stated that Governor Abubakar Sani Bello’s vision of a better Niger State transcends the health sector, stressing that actualizing such mega vision across all sectors requires strong collaborative efforts, oversight function and political will

“We took this chance to also assess the health services rendered to Nigerlites in this part of the state and to look out for possible investment opportunities that can fast attack the present administration's development drive”.

Speaking further, Dr. Jibril commended the hospital management under Dr. Ishaq Ma’ali for maintaining efficiency and transparency and called on other medical directors to emulate same. “I am so impressed to know that this General Hospital operates with her Internally Generated Revenue”.

The Borgu General Hospital has continued to sustain its momentum in service delivery. Recently the facility received an award as the most IMPROVED HOSPITAL in Niger State.
