Kogi: Salary Delay Will Soon Be A Thing Of The Past, Asiwaju Assures Kogi Workers

Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Asiru Idris Asiwaju, has assured Kogi state workers that the sate government is working assiduously to ensure that payment of workers' salaries are no longer delayed.

Asiwaju gave the assurance yesterday while delivering his speech at the 2016 Takete-Ide Day.

He hinted that the complaints and review committee working on the screening exercise are rounding up their work and as soon as possible, delay in salary payments will be a thing of the past in Kogi state.

While emphasizing with Takete-Ide community on the bad state of their road network, Asiwaju revealed that the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has mandated the state Commissioner for Works to go round the state and identify all bad roads for rehabilitation and construction.

He confirmed that Takete-Ide road has been identified by the state government and will soon be awarded for asphalt lay. He noted that the Takete-Ide road is already scheduled for the phase 2 of state government road construction projects after the execution of the ones recently awarded across the state.

In his remarks, the Director General, Media and Publicity to Kogi State Governor, Kingsley Fanwo, who is also an indigene of Takete-Ide, commended Asiwaju for his magnanimity in promoting Okun people in the current administration.

Asiwaju called on politicians of Okun extraction to promote unity among the people and the leaders in the zone noting that it is only through unity that development can be attracted to Okunland.

He urged the people to give the government of Governor Yahaya Bello maximum support in her bid to develop the state.
