Human Rights Lawyer's Murders Apprehended

‎The Port Harcourt based Human rights lawyer, Ken Atsuweta's murders have been apprehended by the Nigeria Police bringing an end to the mystery sounding the death of the activist.

You will recall that the human rights lawyer was murdered on the 29th of August 2016 along Onuchiolu road, Aluu in Port Harcourt, with speculations that he may have been assassinated.

Four suspects have been arrested in connections with the case.

Parading the suspects today at the Force Headquaters in Abuja, the Force Public Relations officer, Don Awuna stated that the leader of the killer group, chibuike‎ Amuzuo Okwuono, confessed to the killing, stressing that contrary to wide speculation, the killing was a result of a botched kidnapping attempt, ruling out a possibility of assassination.

He further stated that the hoodlums were apprehended by officers and men of the iGP monitoring unit, port Harcourt base rivers state following a painstaking investigation.

‎In another development, the police also paraded a syndicate of armed robbers /kidnappers on the 10of October this year, who kidnapped one Samuel Iheanacho along Aba Oyigbo Express way and carted away his highlander jeep.

The Force PRO disclosed that Subsequently one Army Lance Corporal John Lukas of 2 brigade battalion, Boni Camp port Harcourt was intercepted driving the victim's vehicle.

He said that the victim was rescued after the suspect made a confessional statement to the police.

The FPRO, said intensified efforts have been made by the Nigerian Police Force in the last few months to curtails the high rates of criminal and kidnapping activities by 70% throughout the country.
