Judges Are Not Above The Law!

Some lawyers have implicitly and explicitly stated that the Nigerian judges should have been raided only if corrupt legislators were also raided...or better still not at all...implying that two wrongs make a right.

They overlook the fact that the law has not just the letters but also a spirit...for could not have been the intendment of the crafters of the laws granting protection to judicial officers that they perpetrate horrendous crimes under the canopies of those laws.

In addition, equity...social...economic... political...equity forms the bedrock of all worthy earthly laws.

The type of insanity demonstrated by our rulers cannot be excused under normal situations... let alone in deprived, depraved, shortchanged, hungry and angry lands like ours.

He who comes to equity must come with clean hands!
These lawyers seem to cherish the soiled hands of our judges.

It is high time this nation did away with the current judicial format and embraced the jury system!

It was infantile to assume that these rogues in judicial robes would live up to the high degree of trust reposed in them...while functioning relatively unchecked!

The SSS released a statement that they found huge amounts of cash...even in dollars, pounds and Euros in the homes of some judges.

They also refer to Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.
Imagine him physically preventing the security agents from carrying out their legitimate duties and assaulting them in brazen collusion with his thugs...all because he has immunity from arrest and prosecution.

I hope the SSS took time to obtain video evidence of Wike's act for use when he leaves office.

And the earlier we did away with the immunity clause in our constitution, the surer will our collective survival be!

Surely, Governor Nyesom Wike wouldn't have had the guts to aid and abet keeping large amounts of dollars in judges' homes...to circumvent the BVN if he had no immunity!

For those persons yelling "due process", do we expect the custodians of the same due process being the Nigerian judiciary, to be entrusted to be fair...now that they perpetrate these horrible crimes?

And with regard to the night raid, surprise was a key element to ensure that the loot was found on site. Or do we want the rogue judges to be tipped off so the entire operation would be in jeopardy?

I hear some judges still managed to ferry their raw cash to new locations after overpowering the security operatives with the assistance of thugs and this governor...himself also a thug!

Such is the determination of professional thieves...and rogues!
