The State Of The Direct Labour Agency Road, Asaba

By Chinedu Eborah

The rains are here, and arguably, the worst place to be in, weather one is a tenant, landlord, visitor or simply a passerby is - within and around the notoriously popular direct labour agency road, in the capital city of Asaba, the capital of Delta State, south south, Nigeria.

For a state that is fantastically rich in oil, and is among the highest earner from the federation account, the quality of roads in Asaba and perhaps the entire state leaves more to be desired.

The most frustrating part is that the said DLA road has on record been built and commissioned by the past administration of Governor Ewethan Uduaghan.

However, the reality of the situation is that only a small portion was built while the rest remaines abandoned. Even the area that was built is without an effective and efficient gutter to take care of water flow.
