President of The Nigerian National Association in The Netherlands(NNA-NL) Visits Enugu State Association.
The First Female President of the Nigerian National Association' The Netherlands (NNA-NL), Chief Mrs. Evelyn Azih has paid a courtesy visit to the Enugu State Association in The Netherlands "Marunwanne"-The Netherlands on Sunday, 28 August, 2016.
In her remarks, she thanked the association for offering her the platform to contest the NNA-NL presidency and urged the association to continue to support other Enugu indigenes resident in The Netherlands.
She implored the Association to always send delegates to NNA-NL Meetings in order to be abreast with the activities of the umbrella body of Nigerians resident in The Netherlands.
She emphasized that the Nigerian National Association of The Netherlands is the miniature of the Nigerian government in the Netherlands and promised that the Association will continue to provide assistance to Nigerians in the Netherlands on the areas of Immigration, training and employment, Information and awareness, emergency help & humanitarian services. She also pledged to support Nigerians against human rights abuses in the Dutch Society should such need arises.
She advised the members to be law abiding citizens to their host Country, warning that the era of unlawful detention and deportation of Nigerians in The Netherlands without any clear reason is over as the Nigerian National Association will strongly resist such henceforth .
The Chairman of Enugu State Association in The Netherlands, Mazi Isaac Ani, thanked Chief Mrs.Evelyn Azih for making out time to come and address the Association and wish her well in her new job.
Speaking further, Chief Tony Obasi, a patron of the association assured the visiting president that the Association will give her all the support she will need to enable her succeed in her current position. He further advised "Marunwanne" association to increase their registration with Association like IGBO UNION In Holland where he is the Vice President, another umbralla organisation that bind all Igbos in the Netherlands together because there is strenght in unity.
It would be recalled that The Nigerian National Association- The Netherlands (NNA-NL) had a successful election that produced the first Female President of the Association. The outgoing President Mr. Ayodeji Okele handed over to Chief Mrs Evelyn Azih at an inauguration ceremony held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands on Saturday, July 30 2016.
