SAN FRANCISCO, August 24, (THEWILL) – The Borno state Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Hon Kaka Shehu Lawan has called for the arrest and prosecution of a former governor of the state, Alhaji Ali Modu Sheriff, accusing him of masterminding the growth of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorist sect.

Speaking on Tuesday at one of the sessions at the ongoing annual conference of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, Lawan claimed that Sheriff, who is a factional national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, encouraged spread of the Islamic terrorist sect.

He maintained that the arrest of Sheriff over his alleged role in the emergence of Boko Haram will assuage the feelings of millions that have been dislocated by the deadly activities of Boko Haram terrorists in one way or the other.
