No Peace Dialogue With FG-Militants
In a swift reaction to President Muhammadu Buhari claims on Thursday that
the Federal Government was speaking to Niger Delta militants through the
oil companies and security agencies, Niger Delta Avengers said there were
no such peace dialogues.
The rampaging group said if it was true, it means the government was
engaging mercenaries put in place to disrupt the genuine struggle of the
''agitators'', accusing the President of not being sincere with the Niger
Delta people.
The group said if it was going to accept the olive branch from Abuja,
international community must be part of it , advising the government to
stop deceiving the general public as its demands were well articulated.
Its spokesperson, Brigadier Gen Mudoch Agbinibo, stated “Our attention has
been drawn to media report that the President is in touch with Niger Delta
agitators, including the Niger Delta Avengers, but the truth is that we
are not aware of any peace talks.
“If there is any such peace talk, it means the President is talking to their
mercenaries set to disturb the genuine struggle of the agitators.
President Buhari led government is not sincere to the Nigeria people and
their foreign allies.
“If we are to engage in any peace talks, we made it clear that the
international community must be part of it. The President knows our
demands. Therefore, they should stop deceiving the international oil
companies, the general public and the international community.
President Muhammadu Buhari had on Thursday, affirmed that his
administration was dialoguing with Niger Delta militants to ensure
stoppage of the bombings of oil and gas pipelines.
The President spoke through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and
Publicity, Garba Shehu , while granting farewell audience to the outgoing

Villa, Abuja.

law-enforcement agencies and there were meant to find enduring solution to
