NUT Lapai Branch Elect New Executives

The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Lapai Branch elect her new Excos to pilot the affairs of the Union for the next four years.

The election was conducted peaceful at Central Primary School, Lapai on Monday, 11th July, 2016. Comr Usman Musa scored 192 votes to defeat his counterparts Comr Halidu A. Gimba and Abdulkadir Suleiman Yerima who got 72 and 63 votes respectively to emerged as the new substantive chairman of the Union. While the remaining offices were unopposed.

The new substantive Executives are:
Comr Usman Musa - Chairman,
Comr Salihu Audu - Deputy Chairman,
Mohammed Abdullahi - Vice Chairman 1,
Tanko Mohammed Baba - Vice Chairman 2,
Abdullahi S. Saidu - Vice Chairman 3
and others include
Abdullahi Idris - Secretary,
Madina A. Usman - Assistant Secretary,
Isah Abdulmalik - Treasurer,
Fatima Yahaya Yusuf - Financial Secretary,
Maryam Mohammed - Exam of Account 1,
Aishetu B. Musa - Exam of Account 2,
Abdulmalik Wali - Publicity Secretary and
Umar S. Zainab - Social Secretary.
While congratulating the new Excos, the outgoing Chairman Comr Usman Makun, charge the comrades to be hard working, dedicative, committed, selfless comrades who are ready to sacrifices and render diligent service to the members and general public. He said "the election is over, the winners have been emerged, shun segregation and work as a team because NUT is a family and discharge your saddle duties diligently to take this great Union to a greater height".

On behalf of the newly elected officials, the Chairman, Comr Usman Musa, thanks all the delegates for sacrifices of their time, patient and for entrusting us with your mandate and votes and we will not let you down. He explain further that "issue of half-salary saga, we cannot accept it because it is never done anywhere in the world and we are saying and we continue to said NO to it".
