Federal Court Of Appeal Throws Out Case Against Gov. Darius Ishaku

A Federal court of appeal sitting in Yola, the Adamawa state capital Presided over by Justice Jummai Hanatu Sankey has dismissed an appeal by a Governorship Aspirant in Taraba State, David Sabo Kente,Challenging the verdict of a Federal high Court Jalingo on the authenticity of the candidature of the incumbency Governor Ishaku Darius.

Delivering the judgment in Yola,Justice Jummai Sankey threw the appeal for lack of merit on the reliefs sought by the appellant among which the court of appeal should set-aside the ruling of the federal high Court and declared him as the authentic candidature of the PDP in Taraba state during the 2015 Governorship elections conducted.

Reacting to the judgment,the lead counsel to Governor Ishaku Darius,Akanmode Abayomi described the verdict delivered by the court of appeal as a landmark judgment that vindicated his client.

The Attorney General Taraba state, Barr Yusuf Nya Akirikwaru said, the judgment was a victory for democracy and the people of Taraba state.

Similarly, the state chairman of PDP Taraba state,Victor Bala Kona commented the Judge for considering the rule of law,describing the verdict also as a Victory for the leadership of the PDP and people of Taraba state.

However the Lead counsel to the appellant, Barr Abbas Ajiya said they are heading straight to the supreme Court seeing the fact that the case was thrown out on technical ground
