Raid of my home : Buhari has brought despotism back—-Obanikoro

A Former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, has described the raid of his home  by armed EFCC operatives, as “a return of despotism”.

Vehicles, among other valuables, were reportedly carted away from his home. Obanikoro is currently in the United States.

The former PDP governorship aspirant in Lagos State, in  a series of tweets on Wednesday,  said the action was ” a throwback of our tyrannical past”

He said ” in 16  years of democracy, we thought we had conquered despotism for good in Nigeria, but in one year, this government has brought it back”

He accused President Mmuhammadu Buhari-led government of promoting “ethnic divisions, political persecution and official gangsterism.”

According to him ” The invasion and raid of my residence yesterday by agents of the state is a sad throwback to a tyrannical past that is better forgotten”

Obanikoro maintained that ” I have never received any invitation from the EFCC over any issue up till date , this invasion therefore is premature”
