Imo Bilie Chides Okorocha Over Stewardship Accountability

By Obidinma Aku

The Imo Bilie Initiative for Social Justice has berated the Imo state Governor, Rochas Okorocha over last Monday's account of stewardship ceremony held by the Imo state government.

In a letter of response addressed to the National chairman which was made available to journalists, the group described the exercise as a charade questioning why the government should assess herself instead of allowing professional bodies and civil society groups to do same.

The letter which was signed by its National Coordinator and General Secretary Comrade Aku Obidinma (Abdul) and Comrade Jude Ibekwe respectively accused the Governor of wasting the state's scarce resources on a meaningless image boosting fanfare.

They informed the National chairman of APC that Imo people were not excited about the exercise and did not participate in it. They further cautioned the chairman not to be deceived by the sham stating that the Governor has failed Imo people and this has diminished his party's fortune in the state.

IBIN therefore called on the APC leadership to call the Governor to order by directing him to pay workers and pensioners who are owed for several months and refrain from unnecessary showmanship.
