Buhari Tells Cameron: You Are Looking At “old Snapshot Of Nigeria”

President Muhammadu Buhari has told British Prime Minister David Cameron that his remarks about Nigeria being “fantastically corrupt” was embarrassing and that he must be talking about an “old snapshot of Nigeria.”

Cameron stirred controversy Tuesday when a video emerged showing him telling the Queen and the Bishop of Canterbury that Nigeria and Afghanistan are “fantastically corrupt”. Though the Bishop countered that Buhari isn't a corrupt leader.

Buhari who arrived London on Tuesday evening to attend the anti-corruption summit alongside other leaders at the invitation of Cameron, in a statement by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, said: “This is embarrassing to us, to say the least, given the good work that the President is doing. The eyes of the world are on what is happening here.

“The Prime Minister must be looking at an old snapshot of Nigeria. Things are changing with corruption and everything else.”
