SAN FRANCISCO, May 07, (THEWILL) – The convoy of Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha was Saturday obstructed by Fulani herdsmen and their cows as the governor was touring parts of the capital, Owerri and other areas in the state to inspect projects.

THEWILL gathered from Ike Abonyi, a senior journalist in the governor’s car, that Okorocha and journalists in the convoy of vehicles were held up for about 30 minutes along the Amakohia – Orlu Road in Owerri in the evening between 4 and 5pm, before they were cleared off the road by security men attached to the governor.

There have been confirmed reports that Fulani herdsmen have been wrecking havoc, killing and maiming residents in communities in the middle belt and southern Nigeria as they search for grazing fields for their cows.
