The Enugu State auditor, Ogbobe Stephen, allegedly abducted by Fulani herdsmen along Nsukka- Adani Highway has been released.

The auditor was allegedly kidnapped Saturday last week, by Fulani herdsmen along the Nsukka-Adani road while returning from a town hall meeting at Ukpabi community.

According to reports, Ogbobe Stephen, with five others, ran into a road block mounted by herdsmen around 4pm.

Although it was not clear before press time if a ransom was paid before his release. But it was gathered that  the herdsmen had initially demanded for N5m ransom on Sunday, then reduced it to N1.5m the next day.

All efforts to speak with Ebere Amaraizu of the Enugu State Police Command for his comments failed as he was out of his office and his phones were not reachable either.
