Lupta Nyong’o Named As Variety Magazine Power Of Woman

SAN FRANCISCO, April 07, (THEWILL) – Variety Magazine has released its latest Power of Women issue aimed at “honouring women who are using their clout to help worthy causes.”

Honorees in the issue include, Lupita Nyong'o who is being recognized for her work with Mother Health International., dedicated to providing relief to women and children in impoverished and war-torn regions.

Media personality, Megyn Kelly is also recognized for her work with Childhelp, a non-profit organization fighting against child abuse.

Misty Copeland, the first black woman to be promoted to principal dancer at American Ballet Theatre (ABT), is honoured for her work with Project Plie, the diversity initiative for which ABT has partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of America.

Oscar winning actress, Julianne Moore is being recognized for her work with Everytown for Gun Safety.

Designer Vera Wang is also one of the honorees. The designer is celebrated for her role in founding the New York-Presbyterian Youth Anxiety Center which focuses on anxiety disorders in people aged 16 to 28, specifically as they transition into adulthood, with a three-fold approach to addressing the problem: treatment, research and education.
