Anambra Scorecard Returns, Focuses on Awka Capital Territory Development Authority

By Ifeanyi Aniagoh

It is no longer news that Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano is recreating the State Capital to become a world class city like the Dubai Model City.

To this end, Obiano established and empowered the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTDA, and charged them to develop an effective urban master plan for the Awka Capital Territory.

The ACTDA has the mandate to accelerate infrastructural development of the Awka Capital Territory, prepare a Master Plan for the Territory, implement the Awka Capital Territory Master Plan, provide infrastructural services and coordinate all building development activities of the private sector, parastatals and government agencies within the Territory.

Join us on Anambra Scorecard on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 as we discuss “Transforming Awka into a Mega City: The Journey So far” with Arc Michael M. Okonkwo, the MD/CEO of ACTDA.

How much do you know about ACTDA and The Awka Capital Territory which consists of six local government areas in part or in whole of Anaocha, Awka North, Awka South, Dunukofia, Njikoka and Orumba North?

The new Capital City is expected to have a system that would help control land use and institute compliance with space standards and approved designs as well as best ways to manage environmental waste with modern solutions that will ensure orderliness and environmental sanitation that would propel sustainable development.

How do these things affect you, your life style and businesses?
