Kaduna state government has expressed interest in Peace Aid Project ( PAP), an initiatives aimed at boosting agricultural development to take over from oil as Nigeria's national revenue source.

This is contained in a letter to the organization by the state Commissioner for Agriculture and Forestry, Dr Manzo Daniel Maigari and made known to journalists in Asaba.

While expressing the desire to see the PAP projects in all the twenty-three local government areas of the state, the government also gave assurance that it would collaborate with the Peace Aid Project initiative when necessary for optimal performance in order to ensure there is employment and wealth creation for the people of the state.

Speaking on the issue, Chief Executive Officer of Peace Aid Project, Mr Benson Emakpor noted that the aim of the organization is to key into government's efforts at diversifying the economy as decades of over dependence on oil as the major source of revenue has brought Nigeria to the present economic situation.

Mr Emakpor revealed that the PAP initiatives would be taken to every nooks and crannies of the country (774 local government areas of the federation) and would create employment and wealth for hundreds of thousands of youth and women.

He therefore called on state governments and traditional rulers to join hands with the organization and every relevant organization working towards the diversification of Nigeria's economy through agriculture.
