Pupils of two primary schools in Ezionum in Ukwuani local government areas of Delta State were recently provided with school uniforms and a promise of well stocked libraries.

The donation was done by a Lagos based business man, Mr Sunday Olise Omolu.

Presenting the uniforms to the headmasters of Ezhie Primary School and Olotom primary school, Omolu said the donation was done not out of showing that he was wealthy but to encourage the pupils to attend schools for they are the future of Ezionum community.

He promised to build library each for the primary school and to stock them with text books to enhance the educational fortunes of the pupils.

Omolu also donated signboards to the two primary schools.

Responding on behalf of the people of Ezionum, HRH Dr R C Osawuta Ezhie I of Ezionum kingdom thanked the donor for the kind gesture and called on other sons and daughters of the kingdom not to forget their roots and do things that will advance the progress of their community.

The royal father charged the pupils to put God first in whatever they do and be serious with their studies, saying that education was the tool that can break the barriers of poverty and illiteracy.

Omolu also extended the same gesture to the Ezionum Secondary School where he donated a signboard for the school and two trophies for sports competition.

In a brief remark at the secondary school, he enjoined the students not to look down on sports competition as sports is not only source of wealth but a tool of international politics.

He therefore charged the students to combine sports with academic activities.
