Kano biz owners want inclusion in policy making

The business community in Kano has called for inclusion in the formulation of policies that affect the business sector for compatibility and easy adoption based on understanding of the policies.

The call was made by an economist and leader of the association for the promotion of modern business in Kano, Alhaji Murtala Mai Sallah, during newsmen briefing this evening at his office.

He said in respect to the global trend, there is need for the involvement of members of the business community as part of stakeholders in formulation of business policies, adding that one of the reasons most business policies failed was because the real business men were not involved at the formulation stage but the implementation stage.

The business man attributed the present misconception of some of government’s policies such as that on forex to the non-involvement of the business community in the formulation of the policy.

He therefore urged government at all levels to, as a matter of urgency, henceforth involve actual businessmen in formulating policies affecting the business sector.
