SAN FRANCISCO, March 02, (THEWILL) – Fresh fact has emerged from the abduction case involving 14-year-old Ese Rita Oruru who was allegedly kidnapped by Yunusa Dahiru.

After being rescued by the Police in Kano, it has been discovered that Ese, a native of Bayelsa, is about 5 months pregnant. According to reports gathered by THEWILL, the Hijab dress she wore on her arrival from Kano on Tuesday was used to cover the pregnancy.

Following the startling revelation, the IGP, Solomon Arase has directed that she should be handed over to the Gender and Child Protection Unit and adding that a team from the Medical Department of the Force should carry out a comprehensive medical examination of the girl.

The IGP has directed the Bayelsa State Police Command to take over investigation in the saga because according to sources, the offence was committed in Bayelsa which is the place of residence of Yunusa.

It was also revealed that Yunusa will be moved to Yenegoa to face interrogation and prosecution for kidnapping and child abuse as well as violence against a girl-child.

Reports of Ese's abduction and marriage sparked a national conversation on the legality of the union.

Former Minister of Education and Leader of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) advocacy group, Oby Ezekwesili, caught wind of the case on Twitter and contacted the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

However, Popular legal practitioner Femi- Fani Kayode accused the Emir of Kano of complicity in the abduction if he does not state precisely his involvement in the kidnap.
