BEVERLY HILLS, February 29, (THEWILL) – The British Government on Monday, has released a passionate plea and appeal calling for the release of its national who was kidnapped over a year ago in Abuja.

Seventy two year-old David Priestly was kidnapped in January 2015 by gun-wielding criminals from a construction site in Kwale on the outskirts of Abuja.

Since his kidnap, there had been no statement from the kidnappers and the security agencies have not release any information regarding him.

This has prompted the British High Commission and Mrs Priestly to make the plea to any group or individual or group that is in custody of Priestly to release him.

The plea was contained in a statement signed by the Information and Press Officer of the British High Commission, Mr. Joseph Abuku.

“David's wife wishes to make a direct appeal to those with any knowledge, saying he is a good husband and loving father who is well respected within the Nigerian community for all his good works,” the statement read.

“His children miss him terribly and are desperate for any information about what happened to their father.

“She is asking for anyone with information about Mr Priestly's current situation to please make contact, so that she can fully understand what has happened.

“Anyone who has relevant information should please contact 08177415460.”

Reports indicate that Priestly is also married to a Nigerian with whom he has two children and has been living in Nigeria for over 30 years.
