Sick Female Passenger Dies In Toilet At Mmia, Lagos

SAN FRANCISCO, February 18, (THEWILL) – Tragedy struck at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos on Wednesday morning as a middle-aged female passenger billed to travel on Etihad Airways died in the toilet.

While the cause of her death is unclear as at press time, reports say the deceased was about traveling for medical treatment abroad when suffered a bout of pains which compelled her rush to the toilet. She however gave up the ghost while at the public convenience.

In confirming the incident, spokesman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Mr. Yakubu Dati disclosed that the agency was investigating the death and would later give details of what transpired.

It would be recalled that similar deaths have been recorded at the airport where sick passengers travelling abroad for treatment died even before boarding the aircraft.

The British deputy high commissioner had last year collapsed and died on arrival from the United States at the airport, although he was believed to have suffered a heart attack while disembarking from the flight.
