Calabar: ''Watt Market'' Reportly Shutdown

A major market in Calabar, Cross River State popularly known as Watt Market has been shutdown Brainnews NG gathered.

The sad news occured in the early hours of Friday, 22nd January, 2016.

Brainnews NG investigated the reason for the action taken by the market authority which resulted in conflict with the market union where the secretary of the body was unlawfully removed.

A protest was recorded the same day.
When Brainnews NG visited the market, shops and other businesses were shut down while pressure were ensured on the stranded customers and traders.

This action has really hit the area which links to the Cross River State Cultural center and a minor Motor park in the area.

The matter may be resolve maybe after one week of shops and businesses closure and we are hoping it won't extend to other unit of the market, a trader told Brainnews NG.
