BEVERLY HILLS, January 13, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday stunned members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) as he arrived the Council Chambers for the council's meeting at about 9.50am before the Vice President and other ministers.

When the president arrived the Council Chambers of the State House, only a handful of council members were already in the hall for the meeting slated for 10am.

Vice President Osinbajo Chief of Staff Alhaji Abba Kyari, National Security Adviser Babagana Monguno and some 19 ministers who were supposed to be seated before the president had not arrived.

The president refused to wait but requested for the national anthem to signal the commencement of the meeting in the absence of other key members.

“I came too early,” he said as he asked members in attendance to recite the National Anthem with only about 19 out of the 36 ministers in attendance when the meeting started.

Shortly after, some members of the FEC, including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari; National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno; Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige; and Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, Khadija Bukar Abba; arrived.

They were however not late as they arrived at about 9.55am but were seen checking their time and rushing into the chamber when they discovered that the meeting had started.

Some other ministers however arrived after the 10am scheduled take off time.
