Deputy Speaker, Lasun Yussuff Salutes Tambuwal At 50

The Deputy Speaker House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Sulaimon Lasun Yussuff congratulates the Governor of Sokoto State, His Excellency Aminu Waziri Tambuwal on the occasion of the attainment of the landmark age of 50.

It is often said that behind every success and accomplishment there is a story, this aphorism is well proven in and by the life of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Governor Tambuwal’s profile and accomplishments could almost suggest that he is older, but that is the signature of achievers, whose relatively young ages are loaded with impact and accomplishments, that is the Tambuwal's story. A legal practitioner by training, rose to hold leadership position in the chapter of the professional association, the NBA at a young age, and from there aspired to represent his people of Tambuwal/Kebbe Federal constituency of Sokoto state, there has been no stopping his rising poitical career from that point.

Having justified the first mandate, the mandate got renewed, even when he was denied the ticket by the prevailing political establishment in the state then, young AminuWaziri Tambuwal still won the election from opposition. He went on to become a member of the body of principal officers, and the climax of this luxuriant foray in the legislative arm was the dramatic but well earned election as the Speaker of the 7th House of Representatives.

To Tambuwal’s credit he managed the affairs of the 7th House of Representatives {2007-2011}, earned the respect and regard of his colleagues who in most unprecedented and most overwhelming manner gave him the mandate, and this became the political inflexion point. Till date, he has grown in stature and profile suffice to say he became one of the’’ poster children’’ of the present dispensation and an active actor in midwifing this‘’change dispensation’’ that Nigerians now anchor our hope of a greater future on.

As our dear brother turns fifty, I salute a dogged and intuitive realist and the greatest political discovery of the last decade on the Nigeria’s Political firmament, a consummate politician, a dye in the wool patriot, a man whose affection for all is not blurred by privileged position.

I congratulate His Excellency, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal at fifty and pray that Almighty Allah will continue to avail good health and blessings to this man who still has a lot in service stock for our fatherland.
