Sacked Nddc Md Retains Post On Website

SAN FRANCISCO, January 03, (THEWILL) – Two weeks after the appointment of a new Managing Director/CEO for the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, the change is yet to be effected on the management portal of the website. http://www.nddc.gov.ng/management.html

Although, the homepage is flanked by a picture explained thus “the newly appointed Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer NDDC, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, receiving handover notes from the immediate past Managing Director/CEO, Sir (Barr.) Bassey Dan-Abia, at the NDDC Headquarters, Port Harcourt, Rivers State on the 21 st December, 2015”.

The site still has the immediate past Managing Director/CEO, Sir (Barr.) Bassey Dan-Abia, as Managing Director while the newly appointed Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer NDDC, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari was not found.

In a statement by the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation on December 21, President Muhammadu Buhari announced the sack of Mr. Bassey Dan-Abia, and the two Executive Directors for Finance and Projects NDDC.

In his stead, he announced the appointment of the immediate past Rivers State Information Commissioner, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, as acting Managing Director, pending the appointment of a substantive board.

Dan-Abia, an indigene of Akwa Ibom State, was appointed by former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2013 and served two terms as the representative of Akwa Ibom on the NDDC Board
