BEVERLY HILLS, December 08, (THEWILL) – The newly crowned Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi has promised a new nation for the Yorubas.

According to him, a new Yoruba nation where youth empowerment is the focus will emerge during his tenure. In building the new nation, the Ooni also pledged to reunite and promote unity among the ethnic groups and traditional rulers.

Speaking after the receipt of his staff of office, Oba Ogunwusi dedicated his staff to Nigerian youths and promised to work with people in positions of power so as to fish out ways of engaging the rapidly growing youth population.

The monarch revealed that shortly after he was announced Oba-elect, he commenced interface with monarchs across the country, adding that during his reign as Oba, there won't be any competition. “I am close to many monarchs and uniting them should not be a problem. It will be easy. No competition with anyone. And I want to announce to the entire world that a new Yoruba nation is coming,” he said.

Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi is the 51^stOoni to ascend the throne, following the demise of Oba Okunade Sijuwade who passed on at the age of 85.
