APC’s Black Day Celebration...Display Of Falsehood, Self–Adulation - PDP
Gentlemen of the press, I address you this morning in defense of democracy, in defense of good governance, against impunity and against falsehood. I address you as one who is saddened by the evil machinations and activities of the APC in our beloved State.
You are all witnesses to the purported black Monday protest of the anti-democratic elements-the APC, ably led by Dr. Dakuku Peterside, former Senators Magnus Abbe and Wilson Ake along with some of their disgruntled members alleging unsubstantiated violence/politically motivated killings during the 2015 General elections in the State with an intention to rope the Peoples Democratic Party in, whereupon they called on President Buhari to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State and opined that it is urgently necessary..
Ordinarily, we wouldn't have been bothered to respond to such ill conceived, poorly scripted, dismally acted and incompetently directed episode: the anti- democratic posturing of the APC but we make bold to state that our response is based on our firm belief in the rule of law, the unity of our country, the sustenance of our hard earned democracy and the protection of all Rivers men and women who graciously cast their votes for the Peoples Democratic Party and Chief Barr.. Nyesom Ezewon Wike, CON, at the 2015 general elections.
Distinguished journalists, it is disheartening to see presumed responsible Rivers men/women roaming the streets of Port Harcourt just to impress on unsuspecting Rivers people and the larger Nigerian audience falsehood, hypocrisy, deceit and lies which they possess in abundance. It is not a surprise to see Childish Dakuku Peterside leading the pack of jobless and discontented supporters on our streets in the guise of protesting alleged politically motivated violence/killings during the 2015 general elections in Rivers State that never happened. No wonder, Rivers people rejected him and his evil party at the pools.
It is important to inform Dakuku that Rivers people knew and understand the provisions of the Holy Bible which says "woe unto that city whose King is a child. "And because Rivers State has refused to be cursed, that is why they' vehemently rejected the APC which presented a child as their king (Governor) and overwhelmingly voted for Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike; the king (Governor) whom the PDP presented. You can also see from the number of about fifteen thousand (15,000) persons as they claimed showed up for their evil rally as against the over One Hundred Thousand (100,000) persons who voted for the APC during the governorship election, that even Dakuku's followers/supporters are tired and disappointed at their childish and poorly groomed leader.
We are not surprised at the activities of former Senator Magnus Abbe who was rightly defeated by our own distinguished Senator Olaka Nworgu. Magnus Abbe, though a more qualified candidate than childish Dakuku Peterside, was denied the APC ticket primarily because of his inability to stand his ground, as he was seen to be an agent of lies and misinformation. May we sincerely advise Magnus to resort to farming since there are several fertile lands in his native Gokana Local Government Area and as politics is not meant for dishonourable people..
Distinguished pen pushers, we are not bothered by the call on President Buhari by former Senator Wilson Ake to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State. A former senator who never sponsored any bill nor made useful contributions on the floor of the red chamber (senate) while he was a senator but only resorted to sleeping any time the senate is in session; no wonder, his senatorial zone rejected him at the elections. Otherwise, one begins to wonder; what would warrant a state of emergency in a very peace and coordinated State under the PDP leadership. We are convinced that Wilson Ake do not understand what situations warrants for a state of emergency to be declared. His call, is only the ranting of a defeatist.
Ladies and gentlemen, we want to, state categorically that the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State will not condescend so low to the level of playing politics with the lives of Rivers people by celebrating, falsehood and deceit. We shall strive to defend democracy, good governance and the sanctity of Rivers lives no matter the situation. We will not cower to intimidations or victimization by anyone or group of persons no matter how highly placed.
As a political Party, we strongly believe in the unity of our beloved country and as such, call on President Buhari, the National Assembly and the law enforcement agents to call the Childish Dakuku, his Abuja based sponsor, and the Rivers APC to order so as not to truncate our hard earned democracy and plunge our dear State into chaos. As we shall resist any attempt to use any illegal means to destabilize the good intentions and governance of the PDP led government in Rivers State. While also calling on our teeming supporters, Party faithful and all Rivers people not to be dissuaded by the unmannered life style of the Rivers APC but to go about their lawful activities and be assured that Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezewon Wike is able to deliver on all his campaign promises and take our beloved State to greater heights. I know for certain; that the Egyptians we saw yesterday, we shall see them no more. Fellow compatriots of the People's Democratic Party, please be calm, yes I know you will.
