Nigeria Seeks British Support To Boost Agric Goods Export.

The Minister of Niger Delta, Usani Uguru wants the British Government to support the administration of President Buhari in capacity building towards strengthening the nation's democratic and regulatory institutions.

Uguru who made this appeal when the British High Commissioner, Paul Arkwright paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Abuja, noted that when the regulatory institutions are strong, the nation will begin to truly attain to its full potentials.

He, therefore, solicited for access to British agricultural expertise in order to boost the sector.

The Minister further commended Britain for its contributions to the country in the fight against terrorism as well as ensuring the emergence of the present administration in the country.

He also called for more British contribution in strengthening the oil industry regulatory agencies in order to ensure high safety and environmental protection standard.

Earlier, the British High Commissioner
Paul Arkwright had told the Minister that the purpose of his visit was to continue talks as his predecessor did, towards uplifting the living conditions of the Niger Delta Region, which according to him is crucial to the economic existence of the country.

He also noted that he had visited with his team to extend a hand of friendship to the minister to see what it is that the United Kingdom can do to support to the Ministry's agender under the new dispensation.
