Rivers: Tribunal Cancels 21 House Of Assembly Seats Won By PDP

BEVERLY HILLS, October 26, (THEWILL) – The Rivers State election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja has annulled the election of 21 House of Assembly members elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The annulment is coming barely 48 hours after the governorship election in the state was annulled, upsetting the victory awarded Mr Nyesom Wike of the PDP.

Monday's annulment leaves the PDP with only 11 seats at the House in the following constituencies including Oyigbo, Etche 1, Omuma, Ogu-Bolo, Ahoada West, Ahoada East 2, and Emuoha.

The House is made up of 32 members from 32 local government areas of the state.
