General Usimo Congratulates Governor Okowa
Mr. Usimo Joshua Palmer Bayagbon, the President General of Advancement for Youth Development (AYD) has congratulated Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa on his victory at the election petition tribunal.
In a statement issued by the President in Asaba and made public by the Secretary of AYD, Mr. Oyibo Ediri, the President said the collective will of Deltans in voting Senator Okowa is incontestable.
The Delta state governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Asaba, the State capital, on Monday the 26th of October 2015 upheld the election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. The ruling dismisses the duo petitions of the LP and the APC against the PDP, upholding the April 11, 2015 election of Senator. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa.
General Usimo, who was present and overwhelmingly excited at the ruling, said "it is unimaginable for any of the opposition candidates to contest the election as it was peaceful, transparent, free and fair". He continued by saying "contesting the governorship election at the tribunal is a mechanism to distract the prosperity agenda of the Governor" and advised the State Governor, Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa not to give up in his resolve.
While the President thanked God for the victory of Governor Okowa at the petition tribunal, he said the victory is not just a victory for the duly and validly elected Governor, but a victory for all Deltans, saying the tribunal sitting upheld the will of Deltans.
He, however enjoined the aggrieved parties to shelve their swords and join Governor Okowa to bring prosperity to all Deltans.
