Former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, was sighted at the Aso Rock Villa, reigniting speculations that he might be part of the new cabinet being put together by President Muhammad Buhari.

The cerebral economist, who supervised over the most fundamental reform of the financial system in Africa, is known for his bold economic ideas. He was among those widely speculated to be tapped by the President Muhammadu Buhari to push the new economic direction, but later the speculation died down.

Soludo is one the key members of former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s Economic Team, which provided the economic template for successes achieved by the administration in former president’s second term.

Soludo was seen signing the visitor's book, and later entered  the office of the Chief of Staff to the President, ‎Alhaji Abba Kyari,  at about 5:30pm.

According reports, it was  not however clear  whether Soludo met President Muhammadu Buhari.

Soludo, who is a man of great ideas and prodigious strength, will be a great addition to the cabinet of President Buhari as he is likely add a flip to the quest of the president to transform.

Remarkably, the former CBN governor is a man of bold ideas which he is not shy at pushing.

From his record at the CBN, even those who do not share his point of view would agree that he is a go-getter.

Soludo’s visit, which is coming at a time the President is concluding work on the list of ministerial nominees which  he would  send to the National Assembly before the end of this month, is likely indication that Buhari will tap him for a ministerial slot.

It is believed that he is one of the main nominees of former President Obasanjo to Buhari.

Soludo served as CBN governor under the administrations of Olusegun Obasanjo and Umar Yar'Adua.

Soludo was  quite critical of the financial management of the economy by the Jonathan administration.

He accused the former administration of supervising the leakage of N30 trillion from the system.  His contribution, which was at the peak of the presidential campaign, was a bold contribution to the change movement that was sweeping through the country.

His intervention sparked  a war of words with former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, who expressed reservations over Soludo's criticism of the  administration.
