Consider Your Pilgrimage A Divine Opportunity, Bindow Urges 2015 Intending Pilgrims

The Governor of Adamawa state, Mohammadu Jibrilla Bindow has on Sunday advised the 2015 intending pilgrims in the state to take the pilgrimage as a divine opportunity.

Bindow gave the advice at the farewell ceremony to 2015 intending pilgrims in Yola.

He urged them to use the opportunity to pray for families, elders, leaders and the state in particular.

He also solicited for prayers for his administration and the President Muhammadu Buhari.

``I implore you to consider your selection for this pilgrimage as a divine opportunity.

``There are many people who had wished to visit the holy land even once in their life time but could not due to one reason and the other.

``I will advise you to take the pilgrimage serious and sacred and use the period to pray for our parents who have died families, and the country at large.

``I also appeal to you to pray for our dear state and to pray for me too for God to guide me to lead you well.

``And most importantly pray for our dear President Muhammadu Buhari to achieve his vision of changing Nigerian for the better.’’

The governor announced that the state government would buy an ambulance for the state hajj operations.

Bindow also said that his administration would secure a high capacity bus within two weeks that would be conveying intending pilgrims to and from airport.

He also advised the intending pilgrims to abide by the Saudi laws to avoid giving the state a bad name, urging them to be good ambassadors in the holy land.

Earlier, Dr Mohammed Barkindo, Lamido of Adamawa urged the intending pilgrims to pray for the nation’s leadership and the country.

Barkindo advised them to avoid unnecessary buying of goods, to avoid running short of finances before the end of the hajj.

According to him, do not buy things until the pilgrimage is over to avoid been stranded.

Also speaking, Alhaji Bello Wakili, Chairman of the Adamawa state Muslims Pilgrims Commission urged the intending pilgrims to be law abiding during their hajj.

Wakili, while commending the state government for its support to the commission urged them to pray for peace in the land.

Our correspondent reports that 1900 pilgrims are intending to observe the 2015 hajj in Saudi Arabia from Adamawa.
