BEVERLY HILLS, August 24, (THEWILL) – The Chief Matron of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mrs. Caroline Oriola, who was declared missing by her family over the weekend, has been found dead inside her office located in the clinic within the Assembly complex.

The deceased had left home on Saturday morning for the office but did not return and all efforts to trace her were unsuccessful until a cleaner found her lifeless body on Monday morning inside the Assembly clinic.

THEWILL gathered that the deceased had visited the clinic to take some medicine and had locked herself in after turning on the air conditioner.

Personnel of a private security firm, Perfect Security, which provides security at the complex, said the deceased signed in, took the keys and proceeded straight to clinic. But they claimed she did not return the keys afterwards and neither did the security team on duty notice the gap during their routine checks.

An Assembly source told THEWILL that Mr. Oriole, the deceased husband who had waited endlessly for her to return home, had gone to look for her at the Assembly but didn't see her vehicle at the car park, not knowing that she parked at another area exclusively reserved for lawmakers.

The body of the deceased has been transported to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital by the staff of the Assembly led by the Clerk of the House, Mr. Segun Abiru.

The police is yet to officially comment on the incident.
