BEVERLY HILLS, August 14, (THEWILL) – Leaders of Anambra South Senatorial District of chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Friday dissociated themselves from the purported sack of the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, as reported by a section of the media.

In a statement jointly signed by Chief Jude Osude – Chairman PDP Anambra South Zone; Barr Osita Igbokwe – Chairman PDP Aguata Local Government;Engr. Gozie Igwe – Chairman PDP Ekwusigo Local Government; Chief Emma Obilakaba – Chairman PDP Ihiala Local Government; Engr. Maduka Okoye – Chairman PDP Nnewi North LGA; Chief Albert Okparaugo – Chairman PDP Nnewi South LGA; Hon. Ephraim Nwankwo – Chairman PDP Orumba North LGA; Hon. Charles Orji – Chairman PDP Orumba South LGA and Hon. O.C. Samuel – Secretary PDP Anambra South Zone, the leaders the said media reports about the purported suspension of Metuh did not emanate from either Otolo Ward 1, or any of the Wards and LGA in Anambra South Senatorial District .

Maintaining that the news of the purported sack of Metuh from the party was not also from PDP Anambra State, the leaders said “rather it was the handiwork of agents of All Progressive Congress (APC) in their desperate attempts to bring down at all cost the Leader of PDP in Anambra State, Chief Olisa Metuh.”

The leaders also challenged the authors of what it called the fabricated stories about the purported suspension/sack of our Leader Chief Olisa Metuh from PDP, to publish the names and signatures of the elected PDP Ward, LGA and State officers that signed the false and malicious resolution.

The leaders said the position already taken by the State PDP captured in the resolution signed by all the PDP current and serving members of the National Assembly from Anambra State, the State Caucus and the State Executive Committee, whereby the PDP Anambra State unanimously passed vote of implicit confidence on Metuh, is irrevocable.

The leaders however said that they are not in any way surprised that the makers of the false and malicious media propaganda against Metuh, the All Progressives Congress (APC) being a political party owned by one man and his agents, and not been a disciplined association grounded in constitutional issues and norms, are pitiably ignorant about the constitutional procedure for disciplinary action (if any) against the National Officer of PDP.

They therefore warned that no amount of blackmail, harassment and intimidation from the APC and their agents can deter and distract Metuh from the ongoing task of rebuilding, remobilisation and repositioning of PDP to reclaim Anambra State in the forthcoming elections.

They also pledged their unreserved loyalty and support to the Chairman of PDP in Anambra State, Crown Prince Ken Emeakayi, the Leader of PDP in Anambra State, Metuh, the PDP National Vice Chairman (South East) Chief Austin Akobundu, the Acting National Chairman Prince Uche Secondus, and members of the National Working Committee of the party.
