BEVERLY HILLS, August 09, (THEWILL) – The treasurer of the Borno State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Aji Kolo, Sunday, sponsored the wedding of seven internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Bama.

The IDPs who are women were treated to an elaborate wedding ceremony during which they were married off to their suitors at the Maiduguri Government Reserved Area (GRA) private residence of Kolo.

Speaking at the occasion, Kolo said his decision to sponsor the multiple wedding is to give a sense of belonging to the IDPs who, according to him, lacked the wherewithal to foot the expenses of such ceremony, adding that he was motivated by the need to strengthen the marriage institution in the community.

Expressing their happiness during the ceremony, the beneficiaries praised Kolo for the gesture even as one of the newly-wed brides, Mrs. Amina Bukar, who explained that she had tried tying the nuptial knot since last year but was handicapped by funds, noted that Kolo had rendered several assistance to the IDPs in the area.
