NNPC Confirms Sack Of All GEDs, Mute On Successors

BEVERLY HILLS, August 05, (THEWILL) – The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has confirmed the sack of all of its eight Group Executive Directors (GEDs) as previously first reported by THEWILL.

The Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, NNPC, Mr. Ohi Alegbe in a statement on Wednesday, said their sack “with immediate effect” was approved by the federal government.

“The affected GEDs are Mr. Bernard Otti, GED Finance and Accounts; Dr. Timothy Okon, Acting GED Exploration and Production who also doubles as Coordinator Corporate Planning & Strategy; Engr. Adebayo Ibirogba, Engineering and Technology; Dr. David Ige, Gas and Power; Ms. Aisha Abdurrahman, Commercial and Investment; Dr. Dan Efebo, Corporate Services; Mr. Ian Udoh, Refining & Petrochemicals; and Dr. Attahiru Yusuf, Business Development,” the statement said.

The corporation however did not officially confirm their replacements though THEWILL had also previously first published the identities of the new GEDs and the trimming of the Directorates in the NNPC from eight to four, in separate reports Wednesday.

The new Directorates and their Group Executive Directors, according to THEWILL checks are Refining and Engineering with Dr. M.K Baru as Group Executive Director; Exploration and Production, Mr. Denis Nnamdi; Commercial and Investment, Mr. Gbenga Komolafe and Finance, Mr. Isiaka AbdulRazak.
