BEVERLY HILLS, July 21, (THEWILL) – Indications have emerged that the Federal Government is now poised to commence a full blown investigation of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.

The first leg of this is expected to start this week with the arraignment of two top security chiefs that served him closely.

At the same time, the Buhari administration is now set to begin the probe of some cabinet members of the previous administration.

Those to be prosecuted this week except there are delays, according to often reliable sources, are: former National Security Adviser, NSA, Colonel Sambo Dasuki and former Chief Security Officer, CSO to former President Jonathan, Mr. Gordon Obua. Both, it was reliably gathered, will be arraigned for treason amongst other serious allegations.

Dasuki is accused of corruption and illegal possession of assault grade firearms. Five bullet-proof Mercedes Benz G Class SUVs were also seized by operatives of the SSS from his Abuja residence during a raid.

Obua is being held by the Department of State Services, DSS, for alleged movement of large sums of “security money”.

Meanwhile, the EFCC is also set to embark on similar probes. The Chairman of the commission, Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde, it was gathered, had directed that all petitions against former public officers at the federal level should be collated and forwarded to him for necessary action.

Ministries that are top on the list of those to be investigated are defence, petroleum resources and power.

But when contacted over the purported plan, the Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, refuted the claims.
