HOW TO LIVE HEALTHY

By NBF NEWS

Throw out nonessential numbers: These include age, weight and height. Do not fret unduly about them. Let the doctors do the worrying. That is why you pay them.

-Keep only cheerful friends: Grumpy people dampen your spirits and pull you down.

-Keep learning: Expand your knowledge. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let your brain idle away. Remember, an idle mind is the devil's workshop.

-Enjoy the simple things: Learn to take joy in the simple pleasures of life. Not everyone has the privilege.

-Laugh: Laugh often, long and loud. You can actually prolong your life doing so.

-Let the tears flow: Tears can be very therapeutic. Let your grief out if you feel it. There is nothing weak about grieving so long as you don't bury yourself in it. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

-Surround yourself with what you love: Whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

-Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

-Don't take guilt trips: Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is. Never beat yourself over past events.

-Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity. You may never have a second chance.

Finally, life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
