The Egbema Ijaw Liberation Movement, has vowed that the Ijaw in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State will resist any attempt to marginalise them in the 2011 elections.
The group gave the warning in a statement issued on Wednesday in Warri by its president, Mr Prosper Taylor, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
It called for equitable sharing of political offices in the area, adding that the area accounted for more than 25 per cent of oil produced in the state.
The group, which called on the state government to create job openings for Egbema indigenes, also advised it to beware of sycophants.
