Sekondus Steps In As Acting National Chairman Of PDP

SAN FRANCISCO, May 20, (THEWILL) – The Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus has stepped up as the Acting National Chairman of the party pending when a new chairman is announced.

Chairman, Adamu Muazu had Wednesday morning resigned with a letter dated May 29, 2015, but President Goodluck Jonathan ordered that the resignation take effect immediately, a top party source who spoke to Muazu told THEWILL.

Party spokesman, Olisa Metuh told reporters in Abuja that “In line with the PDP Constitution, the Deputy National Chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has taken over as the acting national chairman of PDP pending his replacement from the northeast geo-political zone.”

Muazu's long awaited resignation is coming amid crisis rocking the party following its dismal showing at the general elections.
