Jude Ejiogu: The Making Of A Good Leader

By Onuoha Noel Ikenna

As days unfold, successful individuals in various strata of human endeavour start to manifest. One seems to be persistently on people’s minds whenever the issue of flourishing Nigerians, who have made considerable impact in community building becomes a discourse.

In this scenario, one whose morals are symbolic of a saint with compassionate, resourceful and managerial sprite cannot be over emphasized. This person’s unparalleled sense of humour does not deter his bold and daring qualities like the Arm Forces.

A vivacious man with vast experience in banking, Sir Jude Ejiogu, popularly called by His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha (OON) as “The Engine Room” of the Imo State Government is a type of human genus everyone regards as outfitted for task.

No wonder William Blake says in his proverbs of Hell that “You never know what enough is, until you know what more than enough is”, Sir Jude Ejiogu, Chief of Staff and Commissioner for Special Duties, Imo State is indeed a replica of the quote.

A gregarious and competent servant-leader, it is noteworthy that little did Imo people know Sir Jude Ejiogu’s illuminating traits than Governor Okorocha identified leadership qualities inherent in him by fishing him out from his comfort zone, and made him to serve the good people of Imo State in various sensitive capacities due to his technical know-how.

From Special Adviser on Internally General Revenue to Chairman, Board of Internal Revenue, Local Government Service Commission, he was not found wanting whatsoever.

His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha is satisfied with his selfless services and contributions to the development of the state and decided to give him another task but very magnitude, the Chief of Staff.

Sir Jude Ejiogu has been the source of inspiration, motivation and moral fiber to aspiring young leaders in the state and beyond.

As a dependable leader, he has taken far-reaching decisions and made remarkable achievements, which marveled his colleagues in government thereby making him the envy of all. A very disciplined and conscientious boss, so courageous in pursuing whatever cause he believes in with vigor and panache, a Chief of Staff with immense humility, modesty and charisma, Sir Jude Ejiogu has been fervent about the war against graft; this is why his past records in the banking industry remain unsoiled and corruption free in all ramifications.

One quality that even sworn enemies of Sir Ejiogu is his sincerity, elegance and gentility. A man that talk less but does abundantly great, no wonder his friends and associates call him, “AGU” symbolizing his easy ability to make unfeasibility to be feasible in a short time.

He has contributed immeasurably to the bid to demystify governance. He goes about freely unlike other famous individuals in the society and sometimes, seen on the queue at the airport, rallies and other public places taking his turn to be attended to. What a due process servant-leader!

On the roads, he would rather instruct his driver (s) to slow down or park, in order to allow furious and reckless convoy to pass before he continues his patriotic journey.

In appreciation for his excellence and shortly after his appointment, the entire Imo people exhibited high level of support and encouragement to him as exemplified by the grand civic reception in his honour organized by Imolites cum-Owerri zone at the City School last time ago where His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha (OON) described him as a hard-worker, go-getter, motivator and stabilizer. What a description!!!

The civic reception acknowledged that Sir Jude Ejiogu’s appointment brought in tolerance, honesty, self-sacrifice, patriotism and love rising above all modes of dissection. It is heartwarming that he has demonstrated outstanding capacity to build bridges of unity and understanding amongst the three zones of the state.

In capacity building, he has made private and official contacts to aid youths and women empowerment through skill acquisition, scholarships and other donations devoid of discrimination in line with the vision of the rescue mission administration of Governor Rochas Okorocha.

The bridge builder as he is fondly called, Sir Jude Ejiogu has given immense and dogged support to the Commander of Free Education in Imo State, His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha in ensuring the completion of all projects embarked upon by his administration.

One thing every aspiring leader should be happy to gain in life is to acquire the same lenience and civilized quality of Sir Jude Ejiogu in dealing with issues conscientiously especially, when greedy expired politicians envious of his rising profile attack him on the pages of newspapers with a view to scoring cheap political relevance.

Today, Sir Jude Ejiogu’s appointments as the Chief of Staff, and Commissioner for Special Duties has been described as a big blessing to unemployed youths, indigent women, and the entire people of the Eastern Heartland.

Sir Ejiogu, as the Apex Leader of Owerri Federal Constituency coordinated beyond his bound in ensuring the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded 2015 gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections in Imo State.

In appreciation for his leadership role before, during and after the poll, the entire people of Owerri North LGA, his home town organized a special reception on his behalf to herald his tactical and financial support which necessitated the victory of the party in the constituency.

His special recognition is indeed fair to all component units in the state, while his contribution is in line with the precept of the rescue mission ideology of sustaining and revamping government’s institutions with professional experience garnered.

Sir Ejiogu is the voice of the voiceless, gift to mankind and exceptional human being worthy of adoring. His unquantifiable track records in public service give ample concern to individuals bedeviled with self aggrandizements. He is a leader to be reckoned with.

Imo is indeed better!
