The Lord God Almighty Is Still Supreme, Sovereign And Absolutely In Charge

“In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, "This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover”---Isaiah 38: 1

Incredible! I didn’t know this column is so popular and read by so many readers and admirers all over the world. Even though this is a Nigerian-centered news portal, I was taken aback by the nationals and caliber of those who sent email concerning the outcome of the recently-concluded British general elections. We indicated in this column that Prime Minister David Cameron would be defeated and Labor leader, Mr. Ed Milliband would become the new prime minister of the UK. We missed it, because we are still humans and the Lord God Almighty is still in charge and absolutely in control. But it appears some people were already spoiling for a showdown and had been harboring some malice against the columnist based on the tone of their email on the prophecy. I laughed when I received such toxic email and read the acidic language some of the email were written. “Yes, we got him this time around! He missed it! He didn’t adequately predict well in this one!” Are the things of the Spirit a gotcha thing? Aren’t we humans after all? Does that diminish the anointing of the Holy One in us? Not a bit! What happened? Did we speak on His behalf or we didn’t hear correctly? The Word of Life says it all in Romans 3:4: “Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar. As it is written: "So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge.” First, a little backgrounder on possible misses on the British general elections. I sent in my column article to the editor three times and somehow, the editor didn’t get the article in question. My editor is reading this and can testify to what we are explaining here. Every polls leading up to the general election indicated a rout of the Tories by the Labor Party and Mr. Milliband was already positioning himself as the new occupant of 10 Downing Street. On the eve of the election, a top diplomat called me and said if the election proved my prediction; it wasn’t unexpected because all indications were pointing toward a Labor victory. He said, he would indeed believe in me if the outcome proved otherwise. In other words, what would jolt him and count as prophetic was if Cameron would return as prime minister. “Dr, everyone already knew that David Cameron would not return as prime minister,” he told me on the phone. Another diplomat, a serving ambassador sent an email to me echoing the same thing that, what I predicted wasn’t exclusive because it was a forgone conclusion that the Labor Party would have a big night. I haven’t compared notes with the two diplomats yet and I think I will do that later when the current hoopla dies down.

But many questions remain. What did I see and what did God show me about the British elections? I saw the defeat of Mr. David Cameron as Prime Minister and the election of Mr. Milliband. Why didn’t the prophecy come to pass? I don’t know. So did the Lord God Almighty speak through you in this instance? Yes, He did. The fact that the article got missing three times to my editor may have been an indication of a check by the Holy Spirit. It shows that prophets are still human beings like you and me and as long as we remain in this flesh, we are limited and we can miss it sometimes. The only Person who Can Never Miss it is the Lord God Almighty, the Sovereign Lord God of the heavens and the earth and all that are in them. But because my prophecy about the British general election didn’t come to pass now means the Lord God Almighty didn’t speak to us? Yes, in this matter of the British general election, many missed it; in fact, virtually everyone missed it except the Lord God Almighty. But as surely as the Lord God Almighty lives and I serve Him in Truth and in Deed, we still remain His mouthpiece and spokesperson. Someone once remarked that all our prophetic utterances were mere guesses and I told him to come up with his own guesses too and let’s see. Ignorant people! Talk is cheap. The world knows how to telegraph bad news more than the Good News.

In the Word of Life, there were several instances when men and women of God indwelled with the Holy Spirit prophesied and the Lord God Almighty eventually had the final say as He always does. That doesn’t mean those prophets didn’t hear from the Lord God Almighty but they were overruled. We all have One Boss on whose desk all Divine Decisions stop. He does this sometime for obvious reasons. First, in order to humble us; second, because He is the One in charge and absolutely in control; third, because we humans are lesser mortals; fourth, because only He-the Lord God Almighty-has the whole facts and we human beings cannot have all the facts. Finally, He has His Will on every matter and as He said in Deuteronomy 29: 29: “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.” In the affairs of human beings, events happen at greater rapidity that only the Supreme Being can account for the change of events and circumstances in those intervening periods of events, situations and circumstances. No mortal flesh can make up for those periods of time and space except the One who is beyond time and space and that is the Sovereign Lord of the heavens and the universe and all that are in them, Hallelujah! That is why He says in Isaiah 46: 9-10: “Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, 'My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure'…” Even though He reveals His plans to us His prophets as He disclosed in Amos 3: 7: “Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets,” there are several instances He will not give us the details of such plans.

Prophet Samuel didn’t have any clue who David was when the Lord God Almighty sent him to the house of Jesse to anoint one of his children as king in place of King Saul He had rejected. He thought it was Eliab, the eldest as recorded in 1 Samuel 16: 6-7: When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought, "Surely the LORD's anointed stands here before the LORD." But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." Papa Abraham and Mama Sarah thought the Lord God Almighty would give them a child through Hagar, their Egyptian maid. Isaac didn’t get the memo that it was through Jacob and not Esau that God’s Plan of redemption would be accomplished and was about to bless Esau, his elder son. But God intervened and moved Rebekah, his wife to accomplish His pre-ordained plan known as “purpose in election,” because it was Rebekah who had earlier inquired of the Lord when she carried their pregnancy and was told of this “purpose in election” (Genesis 25: 22). To us modern readers of the Bible narrative, we may think it was duplicitous and scam or 419 of what Rebekah did later, but she knew the purpose of God in the matter of blessing but her husband, Isaac didn’t get the Divine memo. Who made Solomon, king of Judah as successor to his father, King David: God or Prophet Nathan? Read the whole account in 1 Kings 1: 11-14: “So Nathan spoke to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, “Have you not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith has become king, and David our lord does not know it? Come, please, let me now give you advice, that you may save your own life and the life of your son Solomon. Go immediately to King David and say to him, ‘Did you not, my lord, O king, swear to your maidservant, saying, “Assuredly your son Solomon shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne“? Why then has Adonijah become king?’ Then, while you are still talking there with the king, I also will come in after you and confirm your words.” In this account here, Nathan, the prophet told a lie, because never at any time did King David swear to Bathsheba that her son would succeed him. As a matter of fact, Prophet Nathan instigated this conspiracy so he would save his own neck from Adonijah who had declared himself king without Nathan’s knowledge and approval. If Adonijah had invited Prophet Nathan to his self-inauguration, perhaps history would have been recorded differently the narrative, yet the Lord God sanctioned what Prophet Nathan did. King Solomon later received God’s favor and became the wisest human being that ever lived.

We human beings are lesser mortals and we only know the little He wants us to know about how the Lord of lords and kings of kings rule the universe. Hallelujah! The Lord God Almighty Himself made this plain in His Word: “Son of man, say to the Israelites, ‘This is what you are saying: “Our offenses and sins weigh us down, and we are wasting away because of^[ them. How then can we live?”’ Say to them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, people of Israel?’ “Therefore, son of man, say to your people, ‘If someone who is righteous disobeys, that person’s former righteousness will count for nothing. And if someone who is wicked repents, that person’s former wickedness will not bring condemnation. The righteous person who sins will not be allowed to live even though they were formerly righteous.’ If I tell a righteous person that they will surely live, but then they trust in their righteousness and do evil, none of the righteous things that person has done will be remembered; they will die for the evil they have done. And if I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,’ but they then turn away from their sin and do what is just and right— if they give back what they took in pledge for a loan, return what they have stolen, follow the decrees that give life, and do no evil—that person will surely live; they will not die. None of the sins that person has committed will be remembered against them. They have done what is just and right; they will surely live. “Yet your people say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ But it is their way that is not just. If a righteous person turns from their righteousness and does evil, they will die for it. And if a wicked person turns away from their wickedness and does what is just and right, they will live by doing so. Yet you Israelites say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ But I will judge each of you according to your own ways.”---Ezekiel 33: 10-20.

In the journey of life, the One who determines ALL things is the Lord God Almighty. Hezekiah was supposed to die when the Lord God Almighty sent Prophet Isaiah to him to tell him of his impending death as recorded in Isaiah 38: 1. Here was the exact message Prophet Isaiah was given by the Lord Almighty to deliver to King Hezekiah in 2 Kings 20: 1: “In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, "This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover." Those were declarative statements that no one could spin. It was unambiguous and direct. Those were not Prophet Isaiah’s words, but the Words of the Lord God Almighty. Those were similar to what I delivered from the Holy Spirit on the British general elections as directed by the Most High; Prime Minister David Cameron would be defeated just as Prophet Isaiah brought the Lord’s Words to King Hezekiah that he would die. But what followed shortly was remarkable; King Hezekiah did not die. King Hezekiah did something in 2 Kings 20: 2 thus: “Then he-King Hezekiah- turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD…” The death message was reversed and King Hezekiah got additional 15 years.

Did the Conservatives Party of UK do something in between the time I was shown of their defeat and the Thursday May 07, 2015 general elections? Did Prime Minister David Cameron do something I wasn’t aware of? Did God prefer David Cameron to continue as prime minister, even though he suffered from spiritual identity crisis by moving from the Redeemed Christian Church of God to the Silk Temple compared with Ed. Miliband, an atheist? Was the blessing of another superior man of God and the Senior Prophet, Pastor Enoch Adeboye on Prime Minister David Cameron at the Redeemed Christian Church London retreat that made all the difference? In His wisdom and absolute sovereignty, the True Lord God Almighty had His Way in the British general elections and will always have His Way as always. Did I not prophesy in His Name? Well, it’s like also asking Prophet Isaiah, Didn’t the Lord God Almighty speak through you that King Hezekiah would die, and so what happened? In 2 Kings 4: 8-37, a similar incident occurred which Elisha didn’t know of in the case of the Shunammite woman whom the Lord used Elisha to bless with the fruit of the womb “When the man of God saw her coming, he said to Gehazi his servant, “Look, there is the Shunammite. Run at once to meet her and say to her ‘Is all well with you? Is all well with your husband? Is all well with the child?’” And she answered, “All is well.” And when she came to the mountain to the man of God, she caught hold of his feet. And Gehazi came to push her away. But the man of God said, “Leave her alone, for she is in bitter distress, and the Lord has hidden it from me and has not told me” (2 Kings 4: 25b-27). The Lord God Almighty hid the death of the woman’s son from Prophet Elisha, but that didn’t diminish the anointing of the Lord God on Elisha. That was in the Old Testament. In the New Testament and in the current Church Age, we have a better covenant that is more superior to the prophets of old as Hebrews 8: 6 declared: “But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises.”

All those who are shouting and hectoring about one prediction that the Sovereign Lord Almighty allowed to go His Way as usual should stop their agitations. They should go and get a life. I don’t care what anyone says as long as the Holy Spirit is in me and no Satan, Devil, demon or any of their human agents will distract me from my calling. People of the world like bad news. I have a message for those who are beating themselves over David Cameron and Milliband: please get a life. Satan will not stampede or browbeat me through you not to fulfill my destiny. We shall continue to deliver the message of the Most High as long as we live. The things of the Lord God Almighty are not for popularity contest. We do not do the work He has sent us to do, because we want to make world headlines. When we deliver the Lord’s Words as He directs us and you don’t like it or doesn’t get fulfilled, don’t read us, period! We will not succumb to any intimidation from Satan, his demons and their human agents as well. Getting it right or not on who becomes the prime minister of the UK doesn’t add anything to the Good News of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The UK is just one nation of the more than 200 nations in the world. Our message is for all the inhabitants of the earth and a mere miss of an election result is not the litmus test of a genuine man or woman of God. When we speak as the Oracle of the True Lord God Almighty whom I serve in Truth and in Deed, it is His prerogative to make it happen or not. I owe no apology to anyone but only to the Holy One who called me and to Whom to account. In the heavens where my Lord and Savior holds court in His Majesty and where His Tabernacle is and in the kingdom to come, we don’t stand for elections as we do in the world so it is time to move on and continue with the Work of the Most High God as He has sent us.
