Boko Haram: NEMA officials arrive Yola to receive 293 rescued victims

A team from the National Emergency Management Agency ( NEMA) on Friday arrived Yola, the Adamawa capital, to receive the 293 women and girls rescued by Nigerian soldiers from BokoHaram camps in Sambisa forest.

The army authorities on Tuesday confirmed the rescue of the women and girls.

Confirming the development to NAN in Yola, NEMA Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Sani Datti, said that the military had informed the agency that the victims, with the support of armed personnel , were on their way to Yola.

'Presently. I will not confirm to you where exactly the rescued victims are, but according to the military sources, they are on their way to Yola.

'So we are waiting for their arrival to receive them as the army is set to hand them over to us,' Datti said.

Datti also said that the agency had put all necessary arrangements in place to provide a camp for the victims. NAN
