"I totally support that Ogbulafor be removed as National Chairman. He is a disgrace to Abia State, PDP and Nigeria" stated the Honorable Minister of Ministry of Information in the person of Prof. Dora Nkem Akunyili to ukpakareports.com in response to a recent call for the removal of Prince Vincent Ogbulafor as the National Chairman of the People Democratic Party [PDP] by members and former chieftains of the party.

The former gubernatorial candidate under the PDP banner in Anambra in the person of Dr. Nnamdi E. Uba had made public his feelings over the continued stay of Prince Ogbulafor as the Chairman of the party. Uba who had abandoned the party for the labor party during the February 6th 2010 gubernatorial elections in Anambra, had predicted doom for PDP should it allow for Ogbulafor to remain at the realm of affairs against the 2011 round of elections. Responding, the chairman of PDP, through his personal assistant termed Uba's avowals as that of a frustrated politician who have lost his relevance in political matters in Nigeria.

That notwithstanding, ukpakareports.com have gathered that many of the party chieftains have began to search for replacement for the Chairman. Already, names like Enyim P. Enyim and Bernard Eze have begun to make the rounds as possible replacements. But there are no confirmatory signs that the two has been penciled to replace the PDP Chair. One of the party media persons for the south east [Joe Oforkansi] was contacted for comment but he refused to join issues on the matter. Commenting however was the deputy chairman south east, Olisa Metu. He noted that it will be difficult to remove Ogbulafor. This notion was also shared by a PDP chieftain, Okey Muo Aro. He noted that Ogbulafor will serve out the remainder of his term and that the governor's forum is happy with him. He continued that the talk of his removal is propaganda by the Uba political machine - that Ogbulafor and Nnamdi Uba have personal differences.

The former vice president of Nigeria and the founder of PDP in the person, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, when contacted by ukpakareports.com for comment opted to not express an opinion since he was not conversant with the backgrounds of the call to remove the chairman. In his words, "I have been out of the country and returned from London only yesterday I did not read the statement you attributed to Andy Uba so I cannot comment at this stage".

Meanwhile, the PDP Chairman has been reported by sources close to the Ag. President to have gone to beg for his job. According to the source, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor went to Ag. President Jonathan to beg him and to tell him that it was the duo of Governor Saraki and Governor Amaechi that prompted him to made the public declaration that he [Jonathan] cannot contest for Presidency in 2011 under the PDP. It is reported that Ogbulafor has offered the 2011 PDP presidential ticket to Jonathan in return for his job.
