The Babatunde Raji Fashola Youth Football Academy is expected to depart Nigeria for Ghana on April 9 for a friendly match against the Liberty Academy of Ghana.

The match comes up on April 10, in Accra. The invitation is an initiative of the celebrated Ghanaian coach, Sly Tetteh, who is the technical director of the Ghanaian youth side.

According to the administrator of the BRF Academy, Kayode Oderinde, the 24-man delegation from Lagos (20 players and four officials) will depart for Ghana on Friday morning aboard an Arik Air flight.

In preparation for the friendly, the BRF team had last Saturday engaged Trainozzini Academy in a warm up match at the Governor's Office training pitch, Lagos. Two goals from Tunde Babalola and Salami Otolorin gave the BRF team a 2-0 victory. Also on hand to inspire the young players was ex-Nigerian international goalkeeper, Dosu Joseph, who lectured the boys on the fundamentals of a successful football career.

The BRF Academy was set up in January 2009 with the objective of raising future players for Nigeria and Oderinde lauded Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola for creating an enabling environment for coaches and players to thrive in the state.
